1⁄2 | cup | barley or couscous uncooked (also found THIS in the bulk aisle - I love bulk!) |
1 | large | onion chopped |
3 | celery stalks chopped (I didn't have celery so used broccoli - worked GREAT) | |
3 | carrots chopped | |
1 | tsp | Mrs. Dash seasoning |
6 | cups | water (or chicken broth - I opted for chicken broth) |
*optional 2 oz diced chicken (I opted to NOT use chicken this time) |
