Our Favorite Food Bloggers

If you’re like me, and cooking doesn’t come easily, then food blogs are pretty much the best thing since sliced bread.

Step-by-step photos, notes and tips from the recipe developer and comments from readers who’ve tried the recipe all help answer my type-A, give-me-all-the-details questions so that I have more success in the kitchen.

There are hundreds of amazing food bloggers, and there’s no way this post can do them justice, so I’m just going to start by sharing my favorites. Feel free to add yours in the comments!

Simple Bites

At Simple Bites, trained-chef-turned-mommy Aimée Wimbush-Bourque shares delectable recipes as well as tons of tips and methods to help home cooks of all skill levels feel more comfortable in their kitchen. Aimée’s down-to-earth writing style and broad range of healthy-yet-doable recipes inspire me week after week. In fact, it was Aimée’s spotlight series last year that inspired me to first try rhubarb.

Good (Cheap) Eats

Jessica at Good (Cheap) Eats is my soul sister, and I love the balanced approach she takes towards healthy eating. At Good (Cheap) Eats, Jessica explores ways to feed your family on a budget without sacrificing nutrition. And of course, treats like this ice-blended mocha just keep me coming back!

Food for My Family

At Food for My Family, my good friend Shaina and her entire family share their favorite recipes and kitchen tips. Her husband Ole regularly posts about grilling, and you’ll find pictures of Shaina’s kids in the kitchen with her week after week. Although our tastes are fairly different, I love that Shaina’s Monday Menu includes a shopping list and preparation shortcuts.

Kitchen Stewardship

Although not a typical food blog, I love the amount of research that Katie puts into every single post at Kitchen Stewardship. She covers a wide variety of green and real food topics, and I’m especially looking forward to her next series, where she’ll investigate and review natural sweeteners one at a time!

Feed Our Families

Feed Our Families is another blog that’s more about inspiring and empowering you than giving you pretty pictures and dozens of recipes, but I love Gina’s nonjudgmental approach to helping families eat better and get back to basics!

How To: Simplify

At How To: Simplify, Jen shares not only recipes that make your mouth water but also tips to help you simplify your time in the kitchen, like this idea for using an ice cream scoop to help you portion food!

Keeper of the Home

Keeper of the Home is about a lot more than just food, but Stephanie and her team of contributors do a great job exploring the basics of the real food movement and making each part of it feel doable rather than overwhelming!

Unsophisticook

At Unsophisticook, my friend Tara shares gorgeous pictures and mouth-watering recipes. Once you try her maple pecan-crusted bacon, you won’t ever want to go back to the plain kind!
